清正(Kiyomasa) is a community-led meme based on the real gorilla Kiyomasa, the son of Shabani, Japan’s famous “handsome gorilla.”

As the son of one of Japan’s most iconic gorillas, Kiyomasa carries real-world roots, strong Japanese identity, and a presence that stands out immediately. That is what makes this narrative feel different from just another meme.

Now being rebuilt by local Japanese community members, the project aims to grow into something positive, visible, and worth supporting.
